Dear Steven Spielberg

Dear Steven Spielberg,

I really respect and enjoy the films and mini-series you have created to pay tribute to the men and women of the military. I’m sure it takes the help of many other talented people to achieve great reenactment of real events for the cinema audience however, . . . could you please cut down on the amount of time spent on running the opening and closing credits? I think I spend more time reading names than enjoying your production. Thank them ALL but a little faster would be greatly appreciated!

Check out Mr. Spielberg's newest series on HBO

Dear Bullritos

If you have talked to me about food Bullritos has probably come up at some point.  Just to share here is my recent post to them via Facebook.

Dear Bullritos - I wanted a burrito SO bad yesterday I had NO choice but to go to your competitor the "F" word. I was of course disappointed but couldn't make the drive for your delicious food. This is yet another desperate plea to open a location in Pearland. Sincerely - Your fan in Pearland

Am I kidding myself?

If you know me, you know that I try very hard to be a “green” person. But sometimes I just have to do what makes life easier. So, rather than having cloth napkins at the table I still use paper towels. But here is my question – By using Select-A-Size paper towels am I cutting down on my paper waste? I only give my kids one little section per meal which is more than enough for their tiny mouth & hands.

What do you use?

I Can’t Get NO Satisfaction!!

Well. . .I’m really having a hard time getting satisfaction these days. A weekly chore of mine is to vacuum the house. Since I have a small troop of kiddos that filter in and out of my house on a daily basis I like to make certain that I get all of the Goldfish and Cheerio crumbs up and out of the carpet. Needless to say, in the past (AKA before kids) I would vacuum, look back on the work I had done and see the beautiful uniform lines of the vacuum’s good work. As I gazed on the floors I was filled with an extreme sense of satisfaction and a job well done. Now, when I look back the hard work I’ve done all I see is the already trampled lines and a team of toddlers who gleefully chase me. I can’t help but smile at them but feel sad that there is NO evidence of the hour of work I’ve just done. So much for job satisfaction!

88¢

Imagine my surpise when after all of the couponing &frequent shopper $ I have saved got me $8.57 worth of merchandise that I need to buy anyway for 88¢.

Takes time, effort, and may not seem like much to most people but I get a rush out of it. Although it wouldn't be possible without the help of some of my favorite Bloggers.  Thanks ladies!!

Back for Good?

Relationship update – if you care – Walmart & I are back together and going strong!

As a followup to my earlier post - I think we might be getting back together

The reason for the original breakup was because I had to try and shop with both my kids in the cart and on several occasions almost buried my son alive in groceries. HEB offers the double riders or the big cars (which I am sure everyone there without children HATES) but those made it possible for me to do my shopping more comfortably. I figured I would pay a couple pennies more just for the convenience of being able to get the shopping done with both of them happily seated. Plus, I am sure my son appreciated it and that was worth the $.

Nevertheless, on that trip for my ALL YOU magazine I noticed the addition of new double rider carts! Praise the Lord – good prices & great shopping carts for my kids. I had to go back!! Love all those pennies I save at Walmart!

Being so happy with them I took the time to send an email. Never thinking it would go past a cubicle at corporate I sent it anyway just so SOMEONE would know this Mom appreciated the effort to make us moms happy. Then last night while cooking dinner around 6pm the phone rings. It was a kind voice (I think Lisa was her name if I remember correctly) of a Manager at MY Walmart. She politely introduced herself & told me that she wanted to personally call me and thank me for the kind words of thanks for the shopping carts. She went on to say she mainly deals with complaints and was happy someone one was happy.

Her phone call & the fact that my little email had made it past corporate made me feel like I, as a customer, mattered. That made me happy! So Walmart & I are back to Rolling Back prices together! Thanks Walmart! I hope we are back together for good!

Kiss it – make it better

On most days I get really frustrated with my children. So close in age they fight constantly and there is always a new wound to kiss. Well . . . after being home with them ALL day it was finally my husband’s turn. As always there was a fight my son (the baby) was injured first. My husband quickly addressed the situation kissing our son’s wound to make it better. Then he turns to me and says “Isn’t it great to have a kiss that can solve all problems and heal all wounds?” I agreed with a smile then our daughter approached him upset and jealous that HER Daddy had given someone else attention, points at her tushy and says “Daddy – kiss!” After a good laugh about the whole thing he still refused her precious request.
